Yesterday the Sacramento County League of Women Voters hosted a series of forums for candidates and initiatives that will appear on the ballot for the June 8 election. I was invited to participate in the Sacramento City Council District One forum, which was held at the Sacramento County Board of Supervisors chambers downtown and lasted about a half hour.
It began with an opportunity to present an opening statement, answer five questions from three panelists (Cosmo Garvin of the Sacramento News & Review; Jim Cox of California State University, Sacramento; and Pia Lopez of Sacramento Bee), and a closing statement, each strictly limited to just 60 seconds.
The forum was aired live on Metro Cable Channel 17 and was recorded for rebroadcast over the next several weeks — but we decided to make the entire District One candidate forum available here for your convenience.
