Assemblymember Dr. Pan and Councilmember Ashby Announce Members of the Natomas “Think Big” Subcommittee


SACRAMENTO – Dr. Richard Pan (D-Natomas) and Sacramento City Councilmember Angelique Ashby (District 1) announced members of the newly formed Natomas “Think Big” Subcommittee today at Mayor Johnson’s press conference. The subcommittee, which they will co-chair, will be working alongside the Mayor’s “Think Big” Committee to identify the regional aspects of a designated reuse plan for the current Natomas site and will work to identify a strong economic engine for the Natomas area that will not only strengthen Natomas, but the entire Sacramento region.
“Assemblymember Pan and I are excited to have a committee of regional partners ready to work with us as we address the future of the current arena site in Natomas. The goal of this sub-committee is to work concurrent to the larger committee’s efforts in addressing regional impacts associated with building a new arena,” Councilmember Ashby said.

Subcommittee members include:

Darrell Steinberg – California Senator,6th Senate District , President pro Tem
Ed Koop – Natomas Chamber President
Greg Guardino – Executive Vice President, Alleghany Properties
Greg Thatch – Development Attorney, Thatch Law
James Beckwith – CEO, 5 Star Bank
Jesus Arredondo – Westlake President, Community Leader
John Dukes – Yuba City Mayor
Kip Blewett – Principal/Co-Founder, Rubicon Partners
Martha Lofgren – Interim CEO, Sacramento Metro Chamber
Michael Ault – Executive Director, Downtown Sacramento Partnership
Ted Gaines – California Senator, 1st Senate District
Tim Youmans – Principal, Economic & Planning Systems

Assemblymember Pan and Councilmember Ashby will begin holding meetings immediately and along with committee members, will work to evaluate the highest and best uses with regional viability for the current Natomas location.

Dr. Richard Pan is a father, pediatrician, educator, small business owner and first-term Assemblymember that lives in Natomas Park. He represents Natomas and portions of the City of Sacramento, along with Arden Arcade, Carmichael, the City of Citrus Heights, Fair Oaks, the City of Folsom, Granite Bay, North Highlands, McClellan Park, Orangevale.

Angelique Ashby is a mother, business owner, neighborhood leader and first-term Councilmember. She represents Natomas and Downtown Sacramento.
