Public Tours And Grand Opening Of The North Natomas Community Center & Aquatics Complex

Department of Youth, Parks and Community Enrichment, in partnership with the Natomas Unified

School District, Otto Construction and Studio W Architects, are announcing a series of events ahead of the North Natomas Community Center and Aquatics Complex grand opening on Saturday, April 23.


“The North Natomas Community Center and Aquatics Complex is an asset to the Sacramento region giving our families more recreational opportunities. Additionally, this project has generated over 1,000 local jobs, has contributed to the local economy, and will continue to provide long term employment to Sacramento. It will bring tourism to our local businesses, hotels, and region.” said Vice Mayor Ashby.


The public is invited to register for 30-minute group tours of the facility prior to the grand opening. Tours will be held at 2601 New Market Drive, Wednesday April 20 to Friday April 22 from 3-6 p.m. The tour will include a 30-minute facility walkthrough, information on the programs and services, Q&A with City, and Council District One staff, and more. Swimming is not available during the tour.


“The North Natomas Aquatics Complex will be the 17th pool operated by the City, and the first regional aquatics facility designed to serve the entire city 10 months out of the year,” Jackie Beecham, recreation manager for YPCE’s Community Enrichment division said. “This facility will allow us to provide affordable and accessible water safety and recreation opportunities for youth and families all across the city, from traditional programming like swim lessons and recreational swimming, to hosting large swim meets and special community events."


We invite you to register to attend the North Natomas Community Center & Aquatics Complex Grand Opening on Saturday, April 23 from 10:00am– 6:00pm. There will be three


2-hour sessions held throughout the day: 10 a.m., 1 p.m., and 4 p.m. This event will include guest speakers, ribbon cutting ceremony, music, lawn games, and recreational swim sessions.
